The municipal small boat harbor at Lake Pontchartrain which is expected to be completed by the WPA on December 11. Shown here are the concrete wharves and some of the 400 boat slips. In the background may be seen the concrete locker building constructed in the southwest corner of the harbor and a portion of the 3,500 foot revetment which forms New Orleans' only harbor on the Lake. Engineers say the only remaining work to be done under the WPA projects is general clean-up work. Exterior.

In one corner of the harbor WPA crews constructed a locker building of structural steel and concrete. The building rests on 72 concrete piles while the framework consists of 58 tons of structural steel. It is 205 feet long and 44 feet wide and is well ventilated and lighted by four large skylights. Total cost: $1,122,339.03. Exterior.
