New Orleans Airport

Ten young WPA workers are attending a school at the New Orleans Municipal Airport to learn to be airport groundmen. The school is being conducted jointly by the WPA and the U.S. Office of Education and is part of the national defense program. Students will be taught the fundamentals of radio, airplane and motor mechanics, theory of flight, CAA laws and regulations, and other subjects pertaining to education.

New Orleans Airport

A class of WPA workers who are studying to be airport ground service men at the New Orleans Municipal Airport. Men who complete the course will be qualified for maintenance and service duties at airports. Special training is given in elementary electricity, internal combustion engines, aviation fuels, weather, theory of flight, and aircraft structure. E. A. Wilkinson is instructor of the course.
