Scope Note

Series of ten prints taken on October 18, 1846. A description of each photograph was typed and then taped to the reverse of the prints, possibly by the photographer. The descriptions have been reproduced below. The photographer gave each print an identifying photo number.

Series of three undated prints depicting Christmas decorations. The photographer gave each print an identifying photo number.

Biographical Note

Lawrence L. Martin was born in approximately 1894 and died on July 23, 1963. Founder of L.L. Martin Commercial and Litho Photographer, 422 Camp Street New Orleans.

This pair of pictures was taken on N. Roman St. between Elysian Fields Ave and Marigny St. This street was paved in First Letting of 1927 by Craven & Lanf, Contractor. Notice the perfect surface where no tree exists as compared to the area with trees.
