French Stereographs
Two sets, probably incomplete, of 1 13/16" x 4 3/16" glass stereographic plates. Each set includes twelve plates. The first set, produced by Lumiere, includes interior views of the chateau at Fontainebleau. A list of views, marked "serie 1" is included with the boxed plates. The second set, produced by Lumiere & Jougla, includes interior views of the palace at Versailles. It also has a list of the views, marked "Interieurs, 2e groupe." The first set is boxed with a simple stereoscope designed for use with glass plates of this size. These items were transferred to the Louisiana Division from the Periodicals, Arts and Recreation Division, ca. 1990. Return to Louisiana Photograph Collection Return to Archives/Special Collections
