Photographs taken of a typical day in the life of Mayor Behrman by John Hypolite Coquille, a staff photographer for the Times-Democrat. Originally placed in a photograph album, the photographs were removed and mounted by Louisiana Division Staff. The captions were transcribed from the album.

Each original print was scanned at 500 dpi and saved as a 2000 pixel TIFF. The TIFF archival masters were edited to produce 600 pixel JPEG images. Click on a number in the table below to view the JPEG for that image.

1 8:30 a.m. Mayor Behrman leaves home.
2 8:40 a.m. He looks over the site of a playground in Algiers.
3 8:50 a.m. Selecting a place for a drinking fountain.
4 9:00 a.m. Inspecting drainage and street paving, Algiers.
5 9:15 a.m. Discussing deep waterway with a friend on the ferry.
6 9:30 a.m. Mayor reaches City Hall and opens his mail.
7 10:00 a.m. A conference with Algiers Street Railway representatives.
8 10:30 a.m. A call from M. Gerson of French Opera.
9 10:45 a.m. Representatives of the Mississippi Valley Transportation Company call, and their project is approved.
10 11:15 a.m. Esplanade Avenue property holders call to seek information about street paving.
11 11:40 a.m. Councilman Harmeyer of the 16th Ward calls.
12 11:45 a.m. Mr. Pujol drops in.
13 12:00 a.m. Daily report of Inspector of Police O'Connor.
14 12:10 p.m. Mr. Miester of the Fire Board pays a visit.
15 12:25 p.m. Assessor McCue receives the "glad hand" daily at this hour.
16 12:45 p.m. At lunch, the Mayor is interrupted about fifteen times.
17 2:45 p.m. Conferring with secretary Shields of Sewerage and Water Board.
18 2:55 p.m. Col. U.D. Hill and W.B. Bloomfield talk over Belt Road affairs.
19 3:00 p.m. Discussing deep waterway with Messrs. Trezevant and Blum of Progressive Union.
20 3:15 p.m. Arranging details with Archbishop Blenk, relative to buying a portion of a cemetery.
21 4:00 p.m. Messrs. Watts and Wells. A visit from representatives of Wells Bros.(contractors).
22 4:10 p.m. J. Watts Duffy, Member of School Board, called.
23 4:30 p.m. President Kronenberger and Doctor J. Numa Roussel of School Board are given audience.
24 4:40 p.m. Messrs. Martin and Craft discuss waterways.
25 5:00 p.m. The Mayor pauses to chat with employees of City Hall before starting home.
