Allison did not leave descriptions for the negatives included in this series. Several of the descriptions listed below were taken from prints also included in the collection. The others are more or less derived from the photographs themselves.
Allison took several of these photographs on February 19, 1958, the day after that year's Mardi Gras. In some of them, snow is visible on the ground, a week after the unusual snowfall of February 12.
