One of the NUTRIAS staff members is always running around looking for information to add to these pages!
| Once upon a time (a long time ago in cybertime), many libraries and other information centers had GOPHERS. We wanted a gopher, too. But we found that such creatures cannot live in the soggy soil of southern Louisiana, so we got ourselves a nutria instead. A rodent common to the area, and quite adept at navigating the local wetlands, is the nutria. These furry beasts swim around quite easily, probably because they have WEBbed feet. As for their information carrying abilities, many find NUTRIAS to be vastly superior toGOPHERS. Please be aware that the electronic NUTRIAS of New Orleans differ considerably from the nasty, furry, yellow-toothed nutria found elsewhere around the state. |
