Date range: 1910-1913
Source of acquisition: Separated from Civil District Court #117,737

The Poydras Homestead Association, one of thirty-six such firms listed in the 1911 Soards' New Orleans Trade Guide, had its office at 520 South Rampart Street. In 1911 its president was Salvador Bennett and Maurice F. O'Neill acted as secretary and treasurer.

The minutes, in one volume (marked No. 1), begin on February 23, 1910 with what appears to be the firm's organizational meeting. Included are board meetings (both regular and special) along with meetings of the executive committee and meetings of the Association's shareholders. For each meeting the minutes record the names of the members in attendance along with details of the business transacted. Among the transactions recorded are withdrawals (giving name of depositor and amount withdrawn) and loan applications (giving name of applicant, amount borrowed, and the location & description of the construction project). Several loose papers (cerifications of board elections and secretary's reports) were left in place within the volume. The minutes end with the meeting of the shareholders held on March 6, 1913. At that meeting the Association, among other things, voted to go into voluntary liquidation.

The minutes were filed as evidence in Civil District Court #117,737 on February 14, 1924. It has been separated from the remainder of the suit record in that matter.
