This item is a photocopy made from an original manuscript record book kept by the Jefferson City Buzzards, a New Orleans carnival marching group. It was given to the Library by Tad Jones in 2000.
The record notes that the group was organized in December, 1890, but entries do not begin until 1892. The entries for 1892-1895 comprise lists of officers with total cash/collections and expenses for each year. Beginning in 1896, expenses, and later revenues, are itemized. Beginning in 1904, complete membership lists are included.
