Fire Superintendent Arthur J. Heyd (with the white helmet, facing the fire) leads New Orleans firefighters in battling a fire at the Higgins Industries plant on the Industrial Canal, February 1, 1962. The fire caused $40,000 damage to a wood frame building that housed the firm's administrative offices. Fifteen pieces of NOFD equipment responded to the fire. One firefighter was injured by loose insulating material.|
