March 30, 1930
The Junior League's Revue was fairly big news in 1930. Images and articles about the ladies' preparations for this big event appeared on a number of days during the month, and the Sunday "Rotogravure Supplement" of March 30 included some dozen images of the members in costume. The one shown here (especially the caption accompanying it) was too good for us to pass up.
Junior League Revue will be a WOW -- and How!
There'll be dazzling dancing darlings who will delight the optic nerves, glorious and gorgeously gowned show girlies whose presence on the stage will knock you clear into the aisle unless you hold tightly to the arms of your chair, and the singers -- oh my, oh my -- they are rare beauties with golden voices. The gala revue will be staged at the Tulane theater on the evenings of April 2, 3, 4, 5, for the benefit of the Junior League nutrition center and other charities.
