The house on Albania Plantation, near Jeanerette, St. Mary Parish. This sugar plantation came into the possession of the City of New Orleans as part of the estate of Isaac Delgado, who stipulated that proceeds from the plantation be used to support the Isaac Delgado Central Trades School, designed to provide high school age boys with a trade. Today, the city continues to run the plantation through the Delgado-Albania Plantation Commission. The plantation house shown here was sold to a private owner in the late 1950s.
