Momus--King's Float
As with most of the old line carnival organizations the identity of the king is not made public. The Momus queen in 1907 was Harriette Waters, daughter of Rev. Henry Waters, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. In 1911 she married William Porcher Miles, son of a prominent South Carolina politician and grandson of one of the owners of Houmas House plantation.
