Commander's, Coliseum Street in the Garden District, is one of the Crescent City's most beautiful and famous restaurants. Though the neighborhood did not flood, Commander's did suffer severe roof damage--note the blue tarp covering the turret--that allowed rainwater to ruin a significant portion of the establishment's interior. Commander's Palace is expected to be out of commission for at least another three months. The banner on the side of the building, not legible in this photograph, states simply, "We know what it means."
