Kreeger's was a leading New Orleans department store since the 1860s. In 1930 the store suggested kid gloves, a gift that would be welcomed by many a Carnival going New Orleanian. Following an expansion during the 1960s and 1970s, Kreeger's shut its doors in 1986.
