"Jazz Club Prexy Edmond Souchon and WWL's Program Director Ed Hoerner discuss plans for the New Orleans Jazz Club program heard on Sunday at 9:00 p.m. The club was formed two years ago to preserve and stimulate New Orleans jazz and to afford a common meeting ground for both musicians and lovers of jazz. Consequently, many old-time jazz artists came into their own again and several are now recording for one of the major lable [sic] companies. The club, which meets monthly, boasts a membership of "cats" from 18 to 70. Due to the terrific mail pull, a correspondence membership is now in effect enabling out-of-town members to receive bulletins and notices of the various club activities. Plans are being formulated for a three-day National Convention of "hot jazz clubs" to be held in New Orleans."
