McNeese State University's Frazar Memorial Library is pleased to host the 2004 LAMA Annual Meeting on October 15. The meeting will be held in the William Gray Stream Memorial Alumni Center on the McNeese campus. The Alumni Center is located on the southeast corner of Common and McNeese Streets in Lake Charles. This discussion centers on the history of the Rebel Archives Collection at the Louisiana State Archives. This collection contains the official records of Louisiana's Confederate government from 1861-1865. The discussion will also focus on the archival theory of original order and its role in the arrangement of this collection.

3:15 - 5:00 Tour of downtown Lake Charles historic district (transportation and guide provided by McNeese State University and Calcasieu Preservation Society). A. C. Bourdier, president of the Calcasieu Preservation Society, will lead a tour of restored homes in the Charpentier District.

Part of the parking lot to the immediate east of the Stream Alumni Center will be reserved for LAMA Annual Meeting participants. Just tell the policeman on duty that you are with LAMA. Early birds will be allowed to park in the Alumni Center parking lot.
