She was confined at the house of Martha Hickman a colored midwife residing at 195 Magazine. The mother left the child with midwife about the middle of July promising to return but has not done so. It was then taken to 243 Baronne street by an unknown colored man and deposited $6.00 for care. The day locking up the room, the child being left on the bed, unknown party absented herself and has never returned. Sarah Cannon brings the child to City Hall saying she is unable to care for it. Sent this boy to the St. Vinct. Infant Asylum corner, Race & Magazine.

Father named Jos [Joe?] Tish, resides at 308 Decatur St. Refuses to care for child. Julia Grimaldi is the mother of child - resides at 281 Decatur. Her father, Jno. Baptiste Grimaldi, is 72 years old and has not the means to care for and maintain mother and child. Mother cannot secure work with care of child. Sent to the St. Vinct. Infant O. Asylum this day Nov. 4/86.
