Water craft record book, 1929-1932

The single volume records information about water craft subject to taxation as personal property in the city of New Orleans. It includes for each vessel the following data:

  • Name of owner
  • Address
  • Name of vessel
  • Type of vessel
  • Tonnage
  • Horsepower
  • Length
  • Value
  • District
  • Remarks
The first four data elements are present in all entries, as is length. Remarks are only sporadically recorded. Two examples from among the few noted are:
"In Nicaragua since 1921" and "Sold, reported to L.T.C. [Louisiana Tax Commission]"

Vessels included in the record range from pleasure craft to towboats and ferries. One example, from April, 1930 (p. 36) is transcribed below:
