Arts Council of New Orleans
City Spirit Program Files, 1976-1980

The City Spirit program was funded by the National Endowment for the Arts to foster arts activities in communities around the United States. The local program operated by the Arts Council focused on bringing older citizens in contact with the arts, on ide ntifying opportunities for arts activities in area schools, and on providing assistance to individual artists and artist support organizations. Most of the surviving records relate to the programs dealing with the elderly.
