June 26, 2003

JoAnn Allen, library associate for juvenile programs in the African American Resource Center, makes a presentation to summer campers on the famous African American dancer, Katherine Dunham.

Students listen attentively as Allen tells them about Dunham's influence on dance.

Following Allen's presentation, students from Berean Headstart, Cops for Kids, Tambourine and Fan and St. John Community Center were treated to a dance performance by Show Stoppers, a hip hop dance group.

The Show Stoppers led by Thomas Vaughn, front, demonstrate hip hop dance for summer campers.

The Show Stoppers dance group Thomas, (1-r) Jenae Duroncelay, Deja Mitchell and Deanna Powell perform for summer campers.

Summer campers get their chance to challenge Thomas.
