The Civic Center, the International Trade Mart, the Superdome, and the Convention Center have all had tremendous impact on the physical, social, and economic fabric of the Crescent City. These and other important capital projects have been funded by city, state, federal, and private sources in a variety of combinations and alignments. But the New Orleans city government's role in all of these projects has been critical--none of them could have happened without the city's participation in the planning and/or funding process.

In addition to the projects noted above, and illustrated in the accompanying pages, this online exhibit includes images, before and after, of the Audubon Zoo, the New Orleans Business and Industrial District (formerly known as A-MID), and the Canal Streetcar Project.
