Administrative History of the Economic Development and Policy Planning Division
The Economic Development and Policy Planning Division was charged by the Mayor to create employment and wealth generating opportunities for the citizens of New Orleans through increased activity and synergistic cooperation of the individual offices under its control. Those subordinate offices comprised: Economic Development, Small & Emerging Business Development, Business Retention & Attraction, Office of Tourism, Arts & Entertainment, City Business & Permitting Assistance Center, Urban Development, and Neighborhood Commercial Revitalization.

Scope and Contents of the Records
The records include a small number of files relating to the overall management of the city's economic development operations and to several specific agencies and programs. It is apparent that most such records were not transferred to the Archives at the end of the Morial administration.
