This collection consists of over 1,000 photographs obtained through donations and other sources. These photographs were scanned as a group by City Archives & Special Collections staff in 1999 in order to provide immediate access.

This collection contains the digital versions of exhibits that have been on view on the third floor of the Main Library since 1996. These exhibits were drawn from the Louisiana Division collections and from the City Archives.

Image of the Month Galleries

The Images of the Month Gallery was one of the NOPL website's earliest features, begun soon after our web page's debut on April Fool's Day, 1995. Each month, the Gallery presented both single and series of thematically linked images from our collections. The Gallery was discontinued at the end of 2012.
