| This "master plan" view shows the LWE
planners' vision of what the Fair would look like. By the time the plan
was transformed into actual brick and mortar, some elements had been
eliminated, e.g., the tower at Spanish Plaza, and others had been
add ed, e.g., the amphitheater at Julia Street. The large structure
with the "inverted V" roof elements was built to serve as the Expo's Great
Hall. After the fair closed it became phase one of what is now known as
the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center
