Thanksgiving Hours:   All NOPL facilities will close at 3 p.m. on November 25. All facilities will also be closed on November 26 and 27. The Main Library only will be closed on November 28. Branches with regular Saturday hours will be open on November 28.   Happy Thanksgiving!
Five New Libraries for New Orleans
NOPL leads in the City's recovery with the construction of 5 new libraries beginning this year. These locations are part of the Design Build process, an accelerated architectural and construction project producing new state-of-the-art facilities in 2010.

Southern Food & Beverage Museum The Big Read NOLA 2009
The Southern Food and Beverage Museum and the New Orleans Public Library have formed a partnership to conduct The Big Read sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts. The selected book is Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. During the fall of 2009, the two cultural institutions will host or organize numerous events that focus on this classic Southern novel.
